Riverdale season 6 is almost upon us! The season will kick off with a five episode event that’ll have fans doing a double take as Riverdale becomes Rivervale. Yes, you read that right. Something has to be going wrong in the town with pep to have a sudden name change. Perhaps Cheryl’s spell did more than send a cold wind to blow through the streets.

The town as we know it must be in some kind of state of flux, but we won’t know what’s really going until the show let’s us in on this twisting tale. We definitely expect the world to be turned upside down as magic continues to weave through the story.

Remember, Cheryl may not have been declared a witch outright but she’s got some new found abilities that can’t be explained away as coincidences. There’s got to be something magical in the Blossom blood, and it seems we’re going to be pulled into chaos because of it.

Who’s ready to go on another wild ride with Riverdale? Here’s what we know about season 6 including when everyone’s favorite Archieverse witch will be making an appearance!

Riverdale season 6 synopsis

An official synopsis for the season as a whole has yet to be released, however, there is a synopsis for the first episode of the “Rivervale” event:

"WELCOME TO RIVERVALE – Following the explosion that ended Season Five, a new day dawns in the town of RiverVALE, where everything is as it should be. Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Reggie (Charles Melton) are now the town’s power couple, while Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) move in together. But with Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) demanding a return to the “old ways,” this serenity will surely not last. And how could Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) possibly have survived? Vanessa Morgan, Casey Cott, Drew Ray Tanner and Madchen Amick also star. The episode was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and directed by Gabriel Correa (#601). Original airdate 11/16/2021."
