Michael Bryce, the world’s top bodyguard, is back! The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel to 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard, sees the return of Ryan Reynolds, Salma Hayek, and Samuel L. Jackson, and the trio is more eccentric than ever.

Car chases, gunfire, cursing in Spanish, cursing in English, Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic “motherf*****” line, and nonstop laughs sum up The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.

Notorious hitman Darius Kincaid (Jackson) is in need of bodyguarding again, as does his wife, con artist Sonia (Hayek). Bryce, however, is not the same award-winning AAA bodyguard we met in the original movie.

The charisma and jokes are still there, no worries about that, but Bryce has put his violent days behind him and is now focused on peace and relaxation. Well, Darius and Sonia have something to say about that!

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard was made for comedy fans ready for a nonstop laugh adventure with a cast that knows how to have a good time.

The movie never takes itself seriously. Not one bit. In fact, most scenes are wildly far-fetched. I’m talking about scenes you have only seen in cartoons and animated features. Props to the special effects team for sending characters flying only to gather some dust in their otherwise perfect suits.

Should you watch The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard in theaters?

According to critics, what I’ve just described is “wasted talent” and a poor film. But, I have to ask, what were critics expecting? We’re just stepping out from quarantine, shake things off and have a little fun.

This movie was never intended to be taken seriously. If critics were searching for the next Academy Awards winner, they had no business watching this movie. They knew exactly what they were in for.

As for movie fans ready for the action-comedy of the season, The Hitchman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is the perfect movie to watch on the big screen. Jackson and Reynolds are as fun as ever! And Hayek adds the perfect amount of spice to the high-energy duo.

You’ll enjoy the twists (which you’ll likely spot a mile away, but it’s part of the fun), LOL-one liners, and nonstop action.
