5 new Netflix shows and movies to watch this weekend: June 26
Another week has come and gone and the weekend is finally upon us. If you’re anything like me, that means it’s your opportunity to catch up on the latest Netflix shows and movies.
From new reality television to Liam Neeson‘s new movie The Ice Road, Netflix is giving you everything this weekend! Here is your list of shows and movies to stream June 25-27, 2021.
This week was a busy one at the streaming giant with Netflix releasing 14 new shows and movies, so the goal with our list is to help you narrow your list to the ones you should be checking for first. One of the best things Netflix has done recently was adding the top 10 list and three of our selections have already made it into those lists.
Of course, if you missed last week’s list be sure to catch Kevin Hart’s film Fatherhood which is getting great reviews so far and Black Summer season 2 is living up to the hype of the first season!

The hottest show this week
Reality shows have been very successful for Netflix, and Too Hot to Handle is one of the more popular in the bunch. Currently holding down a spot in the Netflix top 10, season 2 is trying something different. This week, the show’s first 4 episodes were released and the remaining episodes will be released next week.
If you’re unfamiliar with the premise of the show, 10 hot singles are flown out for a vacation retreat where they are expecting to mix, mingle and be promiscuous. However, when they arrive they are told that if they want a shot at $100,000 they must remain celibate for the duration of the four-week retreat.
The hottest movies this week
The Iliza Shlesinger movie Good on Paper is already in the Netflix top 10 this week. The rom-com was written by and stars Shlesinger and is directed by Glow‘s Kimmy Gatewood. The movie is a “mostly” true love story, according to its poster, about a hard-working comedian who meets a guy who seems to be too good to be true.

The other great movie this week is the Liam Neeson-led adventure/thriller The Ice Road. The movie sees Neeson as an ice road trucker in Canada who springs into action to save a group of miners that are trapped after a diamond mine collapses.
Neeson’s character must drive across the frozen ocean to save the miners with the ice already thawing. This movie sounds intense and if there’s one thing Liam Neeson does well, it’s making sure you feel the intensity!
