One of the biggest TV-related heartbreaks of the year has been the cancelation of NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Is the musical series getting a miniseries or TV movie soon to give fans closure?
TV cancelations happen all the time. It’s even fair to say it happens too often. Some cancelations hurt more than others, but a few truly sting! I don’t know about you, but I’m still upset about Netflix axing Santa Clarita Diet, and I never miss a chance to bring it up!
When NBC decided to cancel Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, the pain was felt by everyone in the fandom. It’s one of the most unique shows on television and there was still so much story left to tell.
That said, fans are still hoping something can be done to save the series for at least another season. Think about it, even just one more season would give us closure as we still have so many unanswered questions and stories to explore.
Is all hope lost? According to Deadline, there’s some hope, but it’s not looking good. Here’s what we learned from the report.
Will Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist get a miniseries or movie?
According to the source, there are still conversations being had about continuing Zoey Clarke’s story. The crew truly wants to Zoey’s story to feel complete is some way — and we do, too!
The chances of a miniseries or a movie are small, but there’s some hope. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help that Lionsgate needs to make new deals with the cast, particularly the series regulars.
Without new deals, the cast is free to take on other projects, which means it would become more difficult bringing everyone together for one final movie or miniseries in the future. If something is to happen, it needs to happen quickly.
What do you think? Would you like to see a miniseries or movie happen to properly end Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist?
