The Eternals release date, cast, synopsis, trailer and more
After over a year of delays, Marvel’s The Eternals is finally coming to theaters later this year. With a star-studded cast of newcomers to the MCU, fans are anticipating its release as part of Phase 4. But when is The Eternals release date? Who makes up this incredible cast? Here’s everything we know so far!
The cast gathered back in 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con along with other Marvel fan-favorite actors to be introduced by Kevin Feige. Filming began soon after in England, and we can’t wait to see this story be brought to life on screen and learn more about how these characters will play a role in the MCU (and what they’ve been up to this whole time…).
Other Phase 4 Marvel movies released in 2021 are Black Widow, followed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. We’ll then be able to see The Eternals in theaters, which will be released a month before Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The Eternals was directed by Chloe Zhao (Nomadland) and is based on the Marvel comics by Jack Kirby that were released back in summer 1976.
When is The Eternals movie release date? Will it stream online?
The Eternals will now be released in theaters on November 5, 2021. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been an announcement on whether or not the movie will also be able to stream with premium access on Disney Plus on the same date.
Even if the film is not accessible on Disney Plus on November 5, we expect that it will be available to stream a few months later along with other films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that are already part of the platform.
What is The Eternals movie about?
Though we don’t have many details about what will happen in The Eternals, we know it will take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. An official synopsis was released that provides a few clues about the story.
We know the Eternals are an immortal alien race created by the Celestials (who have secretly been living on Earth for over 7,000 years) and that they’re going to face a tragedy that is a catalyst for their decision to reunite. Marvel revealed that the purpose of their reunion is “to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.”
