ABC has announced when its fall 2021 shows will return. Grey’s Anatomy is on the list. Here’s when Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 will premiere.

We knew Grey’s Anatomy would be part of the fall 2021 schedule. ABC made that very clear, keeping it in the 9/8c timeslot on TGIT. Now we get to know when the official premiere date will be.

ABC has announced all its premiere dates, with Deadline having the full list. Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 is on the list, and we don’t have to wait as long as we did for Season 17.

You’ll remember that Season 17 didn’t premiere until November 2020. Then there was a long break from December until March for the rest of the season. This was all due to filming delays in the pandemic. Things are different for Season 18, though.

When will Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 premiere on ABC?

ABC has set the Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 premiere date for Thursday, Sept. 30. While there is a possibility this date may change, we don’t think that’s going to be the case. Filming should be able to happen mostly as normal during the summer.

There are still going to be some delays to the filming of individual episodes, but TV shows shouldn’t see the initial delayed start. We may still see a longish break in the winter, but there shouldn’t be an issue with getting started when planned.

The medical drama will be sandwiched between Station 19 and Big Sky. All three shows will premiere on the same day.

The 17th season was mostly set in a time of COVID. The finale saw some time jumps to bring us to the end of the pandemic (or close enough to the end), which should allow for a little more normality during the 18th season.
