Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings release date, trailer, and more

The second film in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is set to arrive this September. Here, we share everything you need to know about the upcoming MCU film.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, a highly-skilled martial artist who leaves assassin training behind for a regular life in San Francisco. However, the titular role is dragged back into his past life by the mysterious Ten Rings organization, a terrorist group with bad intentions.

After a two-year absence, Phase 4 films finally began with Black Widow, which debuted on July 9, 2021. After Shang-Chi, Marvel will release two more films later this year, The Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is scheduled to release in theaters September 3, 2021. Unlike Black Widow, this movie will only be in theaters as opposed to streaming simultaneously on Disney+ Premier Access. It’s possible that Disney could change the release strategy due to the success of Black Widow‘s opening weekend of $60 million from Disney+ Premier Access.
