Amazon Studios, in partnership with BBC, has a story about love for the ages dropping on its platform at the end of July. Starring Lily James and Emily Beecham, The Pursuit of Love, is the tale of two cousins with disparate ideas of love and one’s future whose connection is strengthened and tested by the passage of time.

Linda Radlett (James) wants to live loud and boldly. She wants love to sweep her off her feet, no matter how reckless and chaotic it might make her life. In contrast, Fanny Logan (Beecham) wants stability. She goes where Linda goes, but letting life take her where it will isn’t her idea of a good time.

As a new age dawns in Europe, with a second World War on the horizon, the two must decide what love truly is and how they want it to enter their lives. It’s a choice that will set them on different paths. But their bond as cousins and best friends still sings between the two, keeping them afloat even through the most trying of times.

The Pursuit of Love is both a romantic comedy series and a drama focused on love, family, and the choices women must make for themselves.
