A24 has released the trailer to their upcoming film, Lamb, and audiences are…confused. Here’s what the Lamb movie is about, where you can watch it, and more.

When A24 teased a new movie with a poster, fans were eager to learn more, knowing A24 movies are truly always masterpieces. Sure, they may not be for everyone, but its target audience are always left captivated and usually with their minds blown.

Just take a moment to remember some of its most-talked about movies: Midsommar, Hereditary, The Lighthouse, Uncut Gems, and Lady Bird, just to name a few.

Another huge plus? Noomi Rapace in the movie poster. The first-look image gives strange vibes. Is it a supernatural horror? A horror drama? Is that a splash of comedy? A24 checks all of the above.

The trailer, which you can check out below, only confuses viewers more. But one thing’s for sure, this is going to be a twisted ride! Read on for the synopsis and more.

Lamb movie synopsis

The synopsis from A24 is:

"“A childless couple in rural Iceland make an alarming discovery one day in their sheep barn. They soon face the consequences of defying the will of nature, in this dark and atmospheric folktale.”"

A24 also shares that this is a “striking” debut feature from director Valdimar Johannsson.

I don’t know about you, but I’m all in! They had me at spooky folktale. We’re in for something creepy.

The beginning of the trailer shows Maria (Rapace) visiting a grave. I’m guessing the couple have lost a child before, perhaps very early in its life. This may explain why they were so willing to raise this baby lamb. What do you think is going on here?

Lamb movie release date

The movie is in theaters on Oct. 8, 2021. It doesn’t seem like the movie will stream anywhere as it is set as a movie theater-exclusive release. We’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
