The Suicide Squad is in theaters on Aug. 5, 2021, and it stars Pete Davidson. But who is the Saturday Night Live star playing? Here’s what we know about Dick Hertz.

The next biggest film to open in theaters is The Suicide Squad and moviegoers couldn’t be more excited! Will you be watching the movie in theaters or stream it on HBO Max?

From the gang we met in Suicide Squad (I know, they should’ve thought of a slightly different title), Will Smith will be noticeably missing, but not necessarily missed as the movie has a star-studded and very fun cast, including Pete Davidson.

In an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson shared he “immediately” agreed to the role after learning his characters name, Dick Hertz. Honestly, that sounds like something Davidson would do. But how well do you know this character?

Who is Pete Davidson’s character in Suicide Squad?

Davidson will appear in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, a sequel, but the movie has also been described as “a soft reboot” or the 2016 movie.

The actor portrays Blackguard, whose real name is Dick Hertz. In the comics, he is a “comical villain” who dies often due to his own foolish stunts.

As much as Davidson’s involvement in the movie has been promoted, his character hasn’t been seen much in the trailers. This and the fact that he is known to die easily and quickly, leads many fans to believe that the character will die very early on in the movie, Screen Rant speculates.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed. For all we know, Davidson is more involved in the movie than we imagine. To find out, we’ll have to watch the movie ourselves!

The Suicide Squad also stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi. The movie is in theaters on Aug. 5, 2021.
