The White Lotus star Lukas Gage couldn’t be happier about that WILD unexpected scene

HBO’s The White Lotus shocked viewers with an unexpected, but very fitting, scene in episode 4, “Recentering.” Lukas Gage has shared that he couldn’t be happier about audience’s reaction. And, honestly, we’re here for it!

If you are not watching The White Lotus on HBO, you’re missing out, my friend. The first three episodes take their time introducing the characters and story, but still include many LOL-scenes and unexpected nudity. But no one saw what episode 4, “Recentering,” had in store.

Armond (Murray Barlett) is done with Shane! He has already fallen off the wagon, and a moment pushes him over the edge again so he decides to go all out, but not alone. Armond invites Dillon (Lukas Gage) to join in on the fun and, well, you know the rest!

An angry Shane (Jake Lacy) and Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) walk in on Armond in the middle of “rimming” Dillon. Let’s just say, audiences did not see this coming, but that’s what Gage loves so much about this scene.

How Lukas Gage really feels about his cheeky scene in The White Lotus

In an interview with The AV Club, Gage tells the source that, in the first draft of the episode, Shane and Belinda were supposed to walk in on the two having sex, but that’s been done before, right? Why not get more creative?

Gage shares:

"“We said, ‘Wouldn’t it be more interesting if [Dilon’s] getting his salad tossed? I mean, how often do we see that on TV?’ I think it’s much more interesting and more jarring to walk in on.”"

Men’s Health also reports that the scene was filmed with an intimacy coordinator and everyone on set was comfortable. Gage loved the outcome and audiences feedback, sharing, “I can’t wait for my a** to get retweeted all over the internet.”

The White Lotus episode 5 premieres on HBO at 9 p.m. ET. on Sunday, August 8, 2021. You won’t want to miss it! Armond sure has gotten himself in quite the situation. Shane is not going to let this one go.
