Grey’s Anatomy Season 18: What’s next for Meredith Grey?
Meredith Grey spent most of Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 on a coma beach seeing dead loved ones. What’s next for her on Grey’s Anatomy Season 18?
It wasn’t easy working our way through Grey’s Anatomy Season 17. The season was set during the beginning of the pandemic, with the season finale seeing a time jump to the end of the pandemic.
Throughout the season, Meredith suffered from the symptom of COVID-19, with it looking like she wouldn’t make it through at one point. However, she pulled through with the help of her children after finally spending time with Derek on her coma beach.
Now it’s time to get ready for Grey’s Anatomy Season 18, which will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 9/8c. What is next for Meredith Grey?
What will happen to Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy Season 18?
The season will see Meredith take on her new role. She’s now leading the new interns, and she certainly has her own way of doing things. She’s not a new version of Richard Webber and is finding her own way of inspiring the new doctors.
We’re sure to see her taking on that throughout the season. Will she remain as the head of the interns throughout the season, though? Everyone else who has taken it on has ended up passing the torch back onto Richard Webber, so will he end up taking over again?
There will also likely be some ongoing season storyline for her. Every season has focused on something involving Meredith, whether it’s a court case, COVID-19, or just her learning how to be a doctor in the earlier years. What trouble will she get up to next to make the medical treatments as fair as possible?
There will be a lot of focus on whether Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 will be the last. This will depend on whether Ellen Pompeo agrees to sign on for another season after this. Could we end up somehow saying goodbye to Meredith Grey this season?
