Will anything good ever happen to Lil Dicky again on FXX’s Dave season 2? The aspiring rap star has been through hell in both his professional and personal life in Season 2. Granted, Dave deserves a lot of the blame because its his actions that created these unfortunate circumstances.

In last week’s episode, Lil Dicky experienced a major setback when his label kicked him out of the Hollywood Hills house for failing to make any progress on his debut album. With nowhere to go, Lil Dicky is forced to move in with his parents.

At first, Dave loves spending time with his parents, but worries when his parents constantly fight. After trying to win his parents over with a special answer, Lil Dicky’s mother calls her son selfish, saying he only does things for his own benefit, which leads to the rapper breaking down in tears.

Desperate for new music, Mike listens to “Ally’s Breakup Song,” and encourages Lil Dicky to add the song to his album because it’s creative and different from his other songs. Later on, Lil Dicky plays the song for Ally as a way to win her back. Ally cries, but tells Lil Dicky it took her a long time to move on. Upon hearing this reaction, an upset Lil Dicky leaves Ally’s house.

Lil Dicky must defeat his writer’s block so in tonight’s episode, he travels to to a new studio for inspiration. However, he soon realizes that the biggest obstacle in his journey as a rapper is himself.
