A truce may have been called between Neo-Queen J and little Z, but that doesn’t mean the devilish gossip-mongering teachers are through with the Constance St. Jude’s crew on Gossip Girl (2021).

If there’s one thing the teachers are good at it’s getting in these teens business, and it seems Zobie are once again headed for rocky waters in episode 5 “Hope Sinks.” The two can’t ever seem to escape Gossip Girl’s watchful eye.

Since they got together it’s been one thing after another from Julien, Luna, and Monet scheming to Zoya wrestling with her own inner demons centered on being on everyone’s radar and the loss of her mother on her birth day in “Fire Walks with Z.”

Now a new friend, a boy, has been added to the mix. Is another suitor out for fair Z’s hand? Or are Obie’s insecurities getting to him? Does it matter if Gossip Girl’s the one in charge of the narrative?

Gossip Girl (2021) episode 5 “Hope Sinks” promises gunplay and drama

Relationship drama isn’t the only dish on the menu in episode 5. Check the title. “Hope Sinks.” Looks like we’ll be circling back to Audrey’s messy life. She and Aki finally talked about his sexual orientation and their relationship but the future is very much not set in stone for them besides looking to make it work together.

With problems at home with her mom, and Aki’s tendency to not take a side, will they begin to fracture again. Not to mention there’s still Max to contend with considering both she and Aki are attracted to him. Will they fall into a love triangle or form an OT3? Is Max even in a place to entertain a conversation about feelings?

He did hook up with classics teacher Rafa last episode. Something tells us that’s going to blow up in his face but will Aki and Audrey be there for him when it does? Or will all this stop mattering when a situation with a gun turns a spooktacular Halloween into scare fest? We’ll find out this Thursday when Gossip Girl (2021) episode 5 premieres.
