Gossip Girl (2021) Episode 6 spoilers: Are Audrey, Aki, and Max on the rise?

Gossip Girl (2021) episode 5 “Hope Sinks” really did take the wind out of Audrey’s sails.

Halloween is supposed to be a fun time and, with a festive gala to attend, the blonde Blair Waldorf look-a-like should have been having a ball with her friends. Sadly, Audrey had another bad tango with her mom that left her clutching a bottle.

What led Audrey to drink? An impending move to Connecticut and a lack of support from her friends and her boyfriend Aki. They all had their own things going on.

From Obie going into sleuth mode over Zoya’s new friend Simon to Julien, Z, Monet, and Luna channeling a Beyoncé and Solange level costume moment for Hulaween. Not to mention Aki working hard to put a stop to the mess that is Max and Rafa.

Being left alone like she was, however, did make Audrey realize how difficult things must be for her mom. Unfortunately, it came too late. “Hope Sinks” ends with Audrey finding out her mom’s been admitted to the hospital. She’s going to be okay, but her recovery is going to be a long road.

With her friends aware of the tough situation she’s in, Audrey now has the focus of her group again. Yes, this includes Max who Aki was successful in wrestling away from Rafa after he learned not only that Rafa lied about being disowned but also he’s prone to hooking up with his 17-year old students.

Gossip Girl (2021) could have left things with Audrey, Aki, and Max settled with how this episode ended or started exploring Aki’s attachment to Max. But, it looks like episode 6 “Parentsite” will be returning the trio to the will-they-won’t-they of all three of them together.

Gossip Girl (2021) episode 6 teases more of the Aki, Audrey, Max triangle

The synopsis of “Parentsite” is as follows:

"When Obie’s mother comes to town, Zoya begins to question his nature – and nurture. Julien decides to take her brand to the next level. Aki and Max come together to support Audrey."

In Audrey’s hour of need, Aki and Max are going to partner up to support her? Well, this is giving us “Fire Walks with Z” vibes when Audrey and Aki each tried to get in touch with Max after his family situation blew up spectacularly.

Those two were hiding what they were doing from each other but with things out in the open between Aki and Audrey, honesty seems to be of the utmost importance in their relationship. Aki was upfront with Audrey about his quest to help Max, and she seemed unbothered outside of wanting some of his attention shown her way, too.

Now it’ll be Max and Aki’s turn to look after her. How will they do it? Judging by the promo for “Parentsite,” we’re thinking wining, dining, and giving her what she wants.

Will this love triangle shift into an OT3 establishing a throuple on Gossip Girl (2021)? It’s unclear. The series has been playing fast and loose with what it wants the connection between the trio to be, but episode 6 might start providing some answers.
