The fight to save Manifest continues and seems to be stronger than ever, but why was it canceled in the first place when it obviously has a massive fanbase?

As Manifesters continue to get #SaveManifest trending and the NBC series is still ranked in the top 10 as one of the most binge-watched show, you can’t help but wonder why such a popular show was kicked out of the NBC lineup in the first place.

The most popular answer is that the supernatural drama simply didn’t have the numbers NBC wanted in ratings. As Radio Times reported, “since season 1 of Manifest, ratings have declined steadily,” but did they give it a fair chance? The simple answer is, no.

As most people are aware, once a series hits the streaming king Netflix, it reaches a larger audience. Many shows have been saved thanks to Netflix and have gone on to become one of the streaming platform’s most popular shows. There’s You and Lucifer, to name a couple.

This happened with Manifest, yet it was promptly canceled.

The source also says that high production costs was a factor. The show was costing too much to make when not enough people were tuning in. But this is another problem that Netflix could have helped solved.

Is Manifest canceled for good?

Manifesters are more hopeful than ever that the series will be saved and renewed for a fourth season. There are even rumors that something may happen very soon.

Our sister-site Netflix Life picked up a fan theory that speculates that a renewal will be announced on Aug. 28 aka “828 day,” which alludes to Flight 828.

Series creator Jeff Rake even hinted something may be int he works with this tweet:

What do you think? Of course, we could be looking too deeply into things, but we have hope!

As soon as we learn anything else, we’ll let you know!
