Riverdale season 5, episode 13 “Chapter Eighty-Nine: Reservoir Dogs” brings us back into the fold of the main plots of this season after taking a detour into the saga of Jaime Luna aka Hiram Lodge.

As Hermoine said in the episode the man will never be satisfied, nothing will ever be enough. Not the palladium, not the riches he’s already made, but still greedy Hiram tries. He wants it all. The family, the respect, and the wealth to his name.

Hiram’s backstory did color in some of the man’s blank spots, but it certainly doesn’t change the fact that this Big Bad’s life is the way it is because of his own choices. Cutting Reggie loose was the one good thing he’s done in a long time.

However it might come back to bite him in “Chapter Eighty-Nine: Reservoir Dogs.”

What is Rivedale season 5, episode 13 about?

With Hiram’s origin story behind us and churning through Reggie’s head, it’s time to see if the wise words the kingpin passed along will put him on the path Hiram wants for him. Though it may have had the adverse effect of pushing him toward Veronica.

In “Reservoir Dogs,” Veronica is willing to go out on a limb with Reggie, and see if he can prove her wrong about him. The show’s return episode “Strange Bedfellows” saw the two working together to recover Veronica’s stolen opal from Dodger Dickenson.

Could that have been the beginning of a beautiful partnership? Will Reggie switch allegiances and swear fealty to the She-Wolf of Wall Street? If he does, Hiram may not take too kindly to his daughter buddying up with his former underling. This could call for yet another Lodge war!

Elsewhere, Archie will also be dealing with a war or rather the lasting affects of one. It looks like we’ll be circling back to Eric’s struggle with PTSD, and it’s going to have Archie looking back at the trauma that he’s been harboring since his own time in a war zone.

Trauma is certainly a theme this season considering Jughead is also parsing through the darkness that lies inside of him. Though it seems it could have put him right in the path of the Lonely Highway Killer. Thankfully, Betty and Tabitha are still on the case and they have an idea that could bring the trucker right to Pop’s.

Lastly, Cheryl is set to extend an invitation to Kevin. We wonder what it could be. A stay at Chateau Blossom? Or will she welcome him into the Blossom congregation of St. Jason acolytes. Honestly, we’re a little scared. Perhaps Kevin should run.
