The 3 MCU movies to watch before Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is in theaters on Sept. 3, 2021. If you want to watch a few Marvel Cinematic Universe movies as a refresher, but don’t have time to go through them all (it’ll be a packed several days), here are the three MCU movies you need to watch.
Even though Black Widow‘s end credit scene teases what’s ahead for an MCU character, the movie doesn’t exactly continue the MCU franchise, but Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings does.
That said, it’s fun (and smart) to rewatch the MCU franchise before going to see a new movie. These are busy times, though. Not to mention, there are many, many MCU movies to go through. If you only have time for a few, we list the three must-watch MCU movies.
Which Marvel movies to watch before Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Please note that I really believe those going to watch Shang-Chi should already be familiar with the movies. These are made for Marvel fans. The movies below aren’t for one to quickly catch up and understand the universe, but for fans familiar with the franchise to watch as refreshers.
Now, I haven’t watched the movie myself, but I caught Jordanwinans TikTok video where she suggests fans watch:
- Iron Man 3
- Doctor Strange
- Avengers: Endgame
I know Iron Man 3 wasn’t loved by all, but it’s one of my personal favorites so I can’t wait to rewatch that before the Shang-Chi.
Doctor Strange is also very enjoyable, but I have admittedly only seen it once. So this should be interesting! As for Endgame, I’m ready to cry all over again!
