September 2021 movies: Release schedule and where to watch
By Ricky Valero
The calm before the storm is what I like to call September for films. We typically see one or two movies from this month jumpstart the award season and it doesn’t look back until the Oscars. There are several September 2021 movies that have the potential to be on that ballot come March. We list the best of the best, below.
The latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe releases at the top of the month in Shang Chi, which has been met with some fantastic reviews already. Will it prove to be another great addition to the universe? And what will the box office be like with it only hitting theaters? Two questions I am anxious to find out.
Speaking of Awards players, we have three movies that have their eyes on getting nominations coming out: The Card Counter, The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Dear Evan Hansen. I’ve heard from several sources that The Eyes of Tammy Faye will be a strong contender, especially in the lead actress category.
Dear Evan Hansen is the type of film that could come out and be met with HUGE success, or it could fall flat on its face and be swallowed up by other movies.
We list the biggest movies coming out in September 2021 with details on where you can either go watch it on the big screen or stream it online. Let us know if we missed any big movies you are excited to watch.
