9/11: Inside the President’s War Room is now streaming on Apple TV+, detailing the events of September 11, through the eyes of President Bush and his advisors.
Anyone who was old enough to remember events, recalls the terrorist attacks on September 11 vividly. We all know where we were the moment we learned the news and what happened next.
We can easily think back and recall the horrifying TV footage. Reports were being covered by every network and radio station. One major feeling in our hearts was helplessness. It’s a memory that will be engraved in our minds forever. So we can’t even picture how haunting the memory must be to those who personally experienced it.
There have been many films, documentaries, and even miniseries, that focus on the historic day. One of my favorites is National Geographic’s 9/11: One Day in America, which connects audiences with the New Yorkers who lived the nightmare we can only imagine.
9/11: Inside the President’s War Room places viewers at the center of the action
Now, we can add 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room from Apple TV+ to our list of impactful documentaries. This film stands out because it takes us inside the room where all the tough decisions were made, and you can feel the pressure, stress, and pain felt by everyone from a different perspective.
The emotion you’ll see take over above all, is anger, which is what I found the most relatable.
Afraid for their own safety and unsure of what is going on, the president and his advisors and security tried to handle things and gather information while aboard Air Force One, a school classroom, and bunkers, always on the move.
Maybe it’s the way this documentary was filmed and edited, or maybe its the fact that this is one of the most emotional and biggest events in history, but audiences truly get the sensation of being in the middle of it.
