Scenes from a Marriage, a drama about the dissolution of a partnership, is set to make its debut in September.

Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain reunite in this five episode limited series. This is the second time the two have acted opposite one another as a married couple. 2014’s A Most Violent Year saw the actors paired in a crime drama but Scenes from a Marriage will be a more intimate look at what lies between a husband and a wife.

Mira (Chastain) is dissatisfied in her marriage to Jonathan (Isaac). She’s driven, ambitious, and her work as a tech executive constantly sees her pushing for better and innovating. In comparison, Jonathan is more introspective and easygoing. He’s a philosophy professor who, like his wife, can see their marriage unraveling.

Jonathan will do what it takes to keep their marriage but his tendency to be accommodating isn’t what Mira is looking for. She wants a less passive partner, someone who’s going to push back. The two clash over their disparate personalities, desires, and needs causing the rift to grow.

Sunita Mani, Nicole Beharie, Corey Stoll, and Tovah Feldshuh will also star.
