Celebrity Big Brother season 3 is coming to CBS in 2022

It’s official, after a three-year hiatus Celebrity Big Brother season 3 is finally happening! During its Fall Television Critics Association presentation on Sept. 9, 2021, CBS revealed it was dusting the celebrity edition of its long-running summer staple off the shelf and had greenlit a third season of the show which will once again air between cycles of the original game that started it all.

As announced by CBS, Celebrity Big Brother will return for its third season in winter 2022 with a brand new group of celebrity contestants moving into the Big Brother house for a condensed version of the summer series.

Considering season 2 wrapped in early 2019, hope had been lost that another season of Celebrity Big Brother would ever happen in the US, but it seems CBS was simply biding its time and isn’t quite finished with the franchise after all.

Celebrity Big Brother season 3 release date

At this time, CBS has not confirmed when exactly the third season of Big Brother: Celebrity Edition will premiere. That said, history suggests the series will debut sometime in late January or early February as both seasons 1 and 2 debuted within this window of time.

While CBS has announced a third season of Celebrity Big Brother is in the works, it has not yet revealed the identities of the season 3 cast just yet. In fact, judging by the press release, it doesn’t appear any celebs have been cast just yet, but we should begin to learn more about the cast in the weeks leading up to the season premiere in 2022.
