Britney Spears gets engaged to Sam Asghari: See their Instagram posts!

Congratulations are in order! Britney Spears and boyfriend Sam Asghari are engaged after almost five years together. The singer took to her Instagram on Sunday afternoon to share the great news, showing off the impressive rock on her finger in the process.

As reported by People, Spears and Asghari met back in 2016 on the singer’s “Slumber Party” music video, and began dating soon later. The 39-year-old celebrity seems extremely excited to officially take the next step in their relationship, posting a selfie-style video alongside Asghari and kissing him out of the frame. Her caption says it all: “I can’t f**king believe it [ring emojis] [heart emoji] !!!!!!”

Spears racked up over 400,000 likes in just about 30 minutes time, and has received tons of supportive comments from fans and friends. Her engagement is just the latest bit of happy news to celebrate over. Though she’s still very much fighting for her freedom, there have been positive developments as of late, with her father Jamie Spears agreeing to step down from her conservatorship in August.

The singer’s fans have continued to stand by her and fight for her rights, with the #FreeBritney movement as dedicated as ever. Her engagement is certainly a major win in her battle for freedom, as we learned in June that she was told under her conservatorship that she wasn’t allowed to get married or have more kids.

“I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” Spears said to a Los Angeles court.
