Getting the help he needs. It’s been confirmed by US Weekly on Sept. 17 that Tom Girardi, 82, has been moved into a senior living facility. Girardi is the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne. The two have been in the headlines in recent years for their highly-publicized divorce and their ongoing financial and legal woes.

As we’ve recently reported, TMZ actually claimed at the end of August that Girardi had been moved out of his Pasadena mansion and into the facility in Burbank, and the former businessman was even photographed at the scene. It looks like this report was 100% true — although Girardi was accused of staging the photos — as US Weekly has the receipts.

According to the celebrity news publication, Tom Girardi’s brother Robert Girardi let the courts know of the new living situation about a month after he was moved in. US Weekly obtained the court documents, which confirm Girardi moved into the facility on Aug. 9, and the most surprising part about it all is the way Jayne was informed.

Apparently, Jayne found out her estranged husband had been moved into a senior living facility via the mail! That’s not exactly ideal.

In case you’re not caught up, news hit Jayne and Girardi were divorcing in Nov. 2020, and from there they remained in the spotlight for all the legal issues that came to light. Girardi was also, unfortunately, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s earlier this year, which led to his brother becoming his conservator.

As reported by People in March 2021, psychiatrist Dr. Nathan Lavid said of Girardi while explaining why Girardi was unfit to go to his court proceedings:

"“Dementia impairs his ability to understand the hearing. [Girardi’s] emotional distress is directly related to his dementia and exacerbated by his confusion.”"

Jayne has yet to make a public response to Girardi’s new living situation, but we’ll keep you updated once or if she does.
