Chastain is back in action in The Resident Season 5 premiere, and we have one big question. Just how will Nic be written out of the series?

We’ll finally see Chastain back in action, but this season is going to be Nic-less. Emily VanCamp has chosen to leave the series, but we’re just not sure how that’s going to happen. There is a moment where cops turn up at Conrad’s door, and that can only mean one thing: they’re giving him some bad news about his wife.

While this is a big storyline, there’s much more coming. After all, there are plenty of other doctors and nurses at Chastain who will need some attention.

What to expect on The Resident Season 5 premiere

The premiere will see a cyberattack at Chastain ER. This isn’t an unusual storyline for medical dramas. In fact, the majority of medical dramas have included some sort of cyber attack.

In fact, The Resident has done this type of storyline before. Back in Season 2, we watched the doctors and nurses deal with a cyberattack, so hopefully, that’s not completely ignored in the new episode. Of course, the circumstances and the way they have to handle it can be different.

Kit is the one to figure out whether to pay the ransom or not since she’s the CEO now. Which decision will she make?

While Kit makes the financial decisions, the doctors need to figure out what to do with the patients. The Raptor is the one in charge there since Conrad is currently balancing being a dad and being a doctor.
