Riverdale season 5, episode 17 “Chapter Ninety-Three: Dance of Death” is another trip down the rabbit hole of the show’s twisting plot this season.

To recap, the current plates Riverdale is juggling include Barchie’s separate storylines focused on PTSD, the town’s moth men problem, the Lodge feud, the Blossom’s ministry, the Lonely Highway Killer’s family, Polly’s disappearance, Jughead’s alcoholism and recovery, Riverdale as a failing town, the palladium plot, and the Trash Bag Killer side story.

As always this show is doing the most so fans should prepare for another packed episode where a lot happens very fast.

Here’s what to expect from “Dance of Death.”

What is Riverdale season 5, episode 17 about?

In “Chapter Ninety-Two: Band of Brothers,” Veronica stole her father’s palladium in a chess move that the Big Bad didn’t see coming. Not only did she sell the metal, she did it right in front of him at an auction that he attended. Talk about a power move. But now it’s Hiram’s turn to strike back, and it’s Archie who’s going to be reaping the consequences.

When Hiram blows up the Blossom mines, he ends up trapping Archie and another miner. It’s a bad situation made worse when you factor in the fact that those mines are full of carbon monoxide that now has no way of being filtered out.

Hiram’s actions prompt Veronica to threaten his life. If Archie dies, he dies. The Lodge feud has now reached the level of potential patricide. Yikes!

Elsewhere, Bughead will be teaming up with Tabitha after she asks for their help when a friend of hers goes missing. Last episode saw the former couple somewhat clearing the air, and Tabitha being a friend to them both in their times of need. Now it seems they’ll be returning the favor.

But, while those three are being an investigative unit and reopening the case of the Moth Men, an alliance against Penelope will be breaking down. Kevin had initially been all for Cheryl being the ultimate authority in the Church of Jason Blossom.

He was the one who advocated for their performance of three miracles to persuade the congregation to her side but now her mother has planted seeds of doubt in him. Could Cheryl confiding in Kevin that she maybe the holiest of holies have caused a riff? Or is there something else troubling Kevin about his friend?

We’ll have to watch and see!
