Oh yes, our favorite celebrity singing competition is back. The Masked Singer Season 6 premieres tonight.

Just a word of warning, this is a two-night premiere. There will also be a new episode tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 23. This is a one-off episode as FOX will get Thursday Night Football starting the following week.

What to expect on The Masked Singer Season 6 premiere

The new episode starts with the Gropu A celebrities. Like in previous seasons, the celebrities are split in groups. The show will start with the group eliminations before eventually moving onto all the remaining celebrities competing against each other.

However, tonight sees a shock double elimination. It’s not common for a double elimination on the first night! This is certainly going to put the celebrities under pressure, and we’ll be finding out who two of the masked celebrities are right away.

On top of that, we’re getting some of the live audience back. That’s certainly been missing for the last two cycles, even if the audience was virtually added in. It just wasn’t the same without the audience votes the way we’re used to. And you could tell the audience was added in virtually because there wasn’t the same energy on the longer shots. How did it feel for the celebrities performing?

The season will also feature the “Take It Off Buzzer.” We don’t know too much about this just yet, although we can take a guess at what it means. The Masked Singer Season 6 premiere is sure to include a little about what it is during tonight’s episode.
