Once again it’s time to figure out what you should be adding to your watch lists this weekend. It is a busy week and weekend for Netflix so we have a lot of programming to introduce. We usually try to keep these lists pretty concentrated but with the abundance of quality content, we have ten new Netflix movies and shows for you to choose from. Let’s get to it.

There are several returning favorites this week, a few new movies, some children’s content, and some reality television. There are a few releases from earlier in the week that are currently in the top ten Netflix movies and shows but with terrible reviews, we chose to leave those off our list. We only want to suggest the best of the best for your weekend binging.

Speaking of the best, there are several titles from last week that you may have overlooked so you may want to give them another look. Squid Game came in strong last week and currently continues to hold the top spot. The Korean thriller series seems to have captured the hearts of American audiences. Sex Education, the expected number one series, is currently at number two instead. Fans of the series are pleased with the new season as the show returned to its season one form.

Now for the new movies and shows that were released this week.

Best show this week

There was never any doubt what the selection for the best show releasing this week would be. Midnight Mass boasts a cast full of familiar faces from Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), to Annabeth Gish and Kate Siegel ofThe Haunting of Hill House, to Henry Thomas and Alex Essoe of Doctor Sleep.

In the seven-part series, a small community experiences a series of miraculous and frightening events immediately following the arrival of a new young priest. Writer/Director Mike Flanagan appears to have another hit on his hands with Netflix following The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Bringing back a lot of actors from his prior works clearly allowed him to get the most out of his cast. Though it is still early, some are saying this may be his greatest work yet.

Best movie this week

For the best among the new Netflix movies this week we’ll defer to the top ten list. We mentioned the top two on the list this week, well the new movie Intrusion has quickly jumped into the third spot. Netflix viewers love a good thriller so they seem to be jumping on Intrusion quickly to fill that need.

We’re including this one despite the early Rotten Tomatoes reviews because of what people are saying. Even the bad reviews are saying that the premise is promising but they felt more could have been done with the foundation that was established. If you aren’t hoping to be blown away and are just a fan of thrillers to pass the time, Intrusion sounds like a safe option to fill that need.

What will you be watching this weekend? If we left out your pick, be sure to let us know!
