Nurse Joe and Jenny’s marriage is on the line on Ordinary Joe. Is there a chance they can make it work or is it really over for them?

When we were introduced to Nurse Joe and Jenny, we learned they’d been in a trial separation for six months. Joe hadn’t taken things seriously and made little effort to change. Jenny served him divorce papers.

At the reunion, Joe showed the older side to him. He was honest, sharing how he hated aspects of his life but he never stopped loving Jenny and Christopher. Everything he does is for them. Now he has 40 days to prove that he and Jenny can make it work.

Of course, there’s a spanner in the works. Ordinary Joe Episode 2 brought that spanner in the form of Jenny’s career.

Will Jenny move to Atlanta on Ordinary Joe?

Jenny’s work is willing to pay for her to go to college. It’s time for her to finish off her degree and finally become the lawyer she always dreamed of being.

There’s one catch: she’ll have to move to Atlanta. It’s only temporary, but it could change everything. Will she be willing to leave her current life behind? What happens with Christopher and Joe?

This isn’t a small relocation. Sure, it’s only temporary, but it’s still a big move that will disrupt everything. Clearly, it’s not something Jenny is thrilled about but isn’t it time she put her own career first?

This may certainly cause problems for her marriage to Joe. She’d be moving to another state, and Joe would have to decide if he’s willing to move too. Joe won’t want to leave his family, and there will need to be discussions about what happens with Christopher. Does Jenny take Christopher with her or will he stay with Joe if they decide to live separately?

Maybe time apart like this is exactly what both of them need. The trial separation didn’t feel real for Joe, but now it does, and this physical separation could lead to him finally putting in all the work to get his wife back and save his marriage.

It could also be the final nail in the coffin.

I don’t feel like we’ve got to know Joe and Jenny enough to really care about their marriage failing just yet. We’re supposed to care for them because Joe is the main character and they’re parents to this awesome 10-year-old, but their characters need a little more development to really fight one way or another—and that’s the case with all the different Joes and his women.
