As one of the most ridiculous and beloved characters created from Saturday Night Live, Bill Hader’s Stefon continues to crack up audiences even after the actor who portrays him has left the show. If you’re looking for a DIY Halloween costume that only requires a few elements, Stefon is the way to go, and here’s how you do it.

First, Stefon has many iconic parts about his look, but his Ed Hardy tattoo-like shirt is the most striking. It’s the epitome of early 2000s style when low rise jeans were in a flip-phones were all the rage. Though this shirt from Amazon isn’t a replica, it’s pretty close and even has SNL on the front just in case anyone isn’t sure who you are dressed up as. Like the original, this shirt has the dragon design on the top shirt, and then the undershirt has long sleeves that continue the same style.

Second, when thinking about Stefon, what comes to mind is his short brown asymmetrical haircut with light blonde highlights. Instead of giving yourself this haircut you’ll have to live with on November 1, try out this wig you can cut back to be the same unique style as Stefon’s. This hair already features similar highlights to those the character has, so you only need to customize the shape.

Lastly, whenever Bill Hader/Stefon cracks up, he covers his mouth with his hands, and we see his lovely rings. If you don’t already have silver rings in a drawer somewhere or know anyone who has a few you could borrow, this set of 16 should probably have enough for you to mix and match. If you want one statement piece, this large turquoise ring will stand out amongst the rest.

Now that you have these three components to your DIY Stefon from Saturday Night Live Halloween costume, you’re all set to go trick-or-treating or find the new hottest club that is slightly offensive. Make sure to get Peacock if you miss watching Stefon and Seth Meyers chat on Weekend Update.
