Grey’s Anatomy spoilers: Why wasn’t Nathan at Owen’s wedding on the Season 18 premiere?
When we learned Abigail Spencer would be back on Grey’s Anatomy, there was one particular actor missing. Martin Henderson wasn’t included as a returning actor. Why wasn’t Nathan at Owen’s wedding?
Megan Hunt turned up to Owen and Teddy’s wedding in the park with her and Owen’s mom and Owen and Teddy’s kids. Of course, the wedding didn’t turn out to go as smoothly as possible. Weddings on Grey’s Anatomy never do.
Eventually, they did get married at the bar with the majority of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial around them. However, the whole time there was one person missing.
Megan quickly passed on Nathan’s apologies at the start. She mentioned that Nathan’s trip had been planned for months, but it soon turned out there was more of a problem.
Are Megan and Nathan still together on Grey’s Anatomy?
Megan got medical privileges at the hospital. It meant she could be in the operating room with Owen and Teddy as they tried to save the priest. Sadly, the priest couldn’t be saved, but the operating room was where the truth could come out.
Megan shared that Nathan wasn’t just away. She and Nathan had broken up.
Their year together during COVID made it clear to them that they weren’t suited for each other. They loved the high highs and even the low lows, but they couldn’t handle normal life together. Rather than force a relationship or grow to absolutely hate one another, Nathan re-enlisted and shipped out.
It’s a story that a lot of couples have realized. For some, it will be seen as a bad thing, as another casualty of COVID. However, it’s probably a good thing. This relationship wasn’t destined to work out and it could have taken years to figure it out without COVID. I’m trying to see the positives in something bad, okay?
What did you think of the reason Nathan wasn’t at Owen’s wedding on Grey’s Anatomy? Would you have preferred that Nathan’s trip had just been planned and couldn’t be rearranged? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
