Ordinary Joe on NBC is a new Fall TV series audiences immediately fell in love with, but the character of Jenny, portrayed by Elizabeth Lail, has not been a fan favorite. Is she turning that around?

The NBC drama series follows Joe Kimbreau (James Wolk) through three different life paths. Ordinary Joe’s interesting and unique concept features how impactful one choice we make can be. In Joe’s case, he was faced with the dilemma of:

  1. Going to a family dinner after graduation
  2. Meeting up with his college BFF (who has something important to tell him)
  3. Meet up with a potential flame

Audiences don’t need to wonder what may have happened, we see Joe go through all three of these choices as we catch up with Joe 10 years after.

In the path in which Joe goes with his college BFF, Jenny, the two end up married. What she had to tell him was that she was pregnant with his kid. However, they are struggling — or should we say, Jenny is struggling.

Will Jenny and Joe get a divorce in Ordinary Joe?

In all three episodes, we’ve seen Joe give it his all. They are separated and taking turns being at home to care for their special-needs son.

Sure, Joe does have some things to work on, but he does! He’s more open, honest, he tries new things (such as not only attending, but participating in the 911 memorial), and even plans a romantic getaway weekend hoping he and Jenny can continue working things out. Still, despite all his efforts, Jenny is uninterested.

Joe gets a pat on the back from Jenny for participating in the memorial, and she turns down the vacation. If she wants out of the marriage, she needs to just say so. Jenny has come off as bored and unconcerned about saving her marriage, and her actions in episode 3, “Happy Birthday, Jenny,” didn’t help. That is, until the final moments.

Jenny is given the opportunity to go after her dream career (which I totally support). This is the path I thought Jenny was going to go for. Surprisingly, Jenny shocks us all when she decides to stay home. Instead of chasing her main career goal, Jenny and Joe will be going to marriage counseling.

I’m not fully convinced, though. I have a feeling Jenny will regret this decision and resent Joe for it. What do you think? Do you want Joe and Jenny together?
