More details about the Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, are surfacing and it has us all excited! Here is everything we know about the HBO series so far.
Fans of the HBO hit series Game of Thrones have long been knowing about the upcoming spinoff. Seeing the first images got us all super excited, but seeing the first teaser trailer truly brought things to life.
House of the Dragon is based on George R.R. Martin’s novel “Fire & Blood” and while some details are still under wraps, below we share everything we know, including the premiere date, cast, and more.
Game of Thrones fans either love or hate the series finale, there seems to not be an in-between. However, there’s no denying that it’s a brilliant series. So no matter how you feel about it, I’m betting you’re excited and looking forward to House of the Dragon. Side note: I still miss Daenerys.
Previously, it was reported that House of the Dragon kicked off production in April 2021, so what does this mean for the release date? Let’s get to all the details we know.
House of the Dragon release date: When is it coming out?
Since production just started, we won’t be seeing episodes anytime soon, unfortunately.
On Twitter, the official House of the Dragon account teases that the series is “coming to HBO Max in 2022,” but there is still no official release date. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.
House of the Dragon synopsis: What is the series about?
The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” which follows the Targaryen civil war. The events happen about 300 years before what we see in Game of Thrones takes place.

From the press release, the cast so far includes Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans, Will Johnson, John Macmillan, Savannah Steyn, and Theo Nate.
