Riverdale season 5 finale spoilers: Do Betty and Archie get together?

Well, Riverdale season 5 ended with a cliffhanger that’ll have fans impatiently waiting for this next month to pass so we can launch into season 6‘s five episode event on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Barchie shippers are especially going to be finding this short hiatus difficult given the state of their relationship by the end of the finale.

It’s been quite some time since the two shared any significant scenes together since they called their friends-with-benefits situation quits a few episodes after it started.

Since then we’ve been treated to Archie’s fight for the town of Riverdale, his up and down relationship with Veronica, and Betty’s quest to find her sister, Polly.

With those season 5 arcs tied up by the end of the finale, it makes sense that the show would circle back to these two even if there was no indication in the overall plot that that was going to happen.

But are Barchie an actual couple now or are they once again going to be embroiled in a friends in the streets but lovers in the sheets kind of relationship? Here’s what we know!

Do Archie and Betty become a couple in the Riverdale season 5 finale?

Fans of Betty and Archie can rest easy knowing that the two are officially a couple. “Chapter Ninety-Five: RIVERDALE: RIP (?)” threw the two back together with little warning though that doesn’t mean their fond looks at one another weren’t a sight for sore eyes.

As the two teamed up with the rest of their friends to oust Hiram out of town and reincorporate Riverdale, it was obvious that it would only be a matter of time before they’d find themselves alone and ready to talk.

Archie made the first move by asking Betty what she’d be doing later on in the evening after the town hall meeting where the Riverdale council was elected. Turns out his invitation back to his place was an opening to seek a real relationship with her.

Our redheaded wonder asked the newly instated FBI special agent if she’d give them a real try, and she said yes. However, their joy was short-lived.

In the middle of their make out session, where it clearly looked like Archie might say a premature I love you to Betty, the two realized they were hearing a ticking sound.

Never to be out done, Hiram had placed a bomb under Archie’s bed before he made his exit out of town. That’s where the season ends, unfortunately, so we have no idea how exactly Barchie are going to get out of this pickle. Good thing season 6 is only a little over a month away!
