We’re here! We finally made it to the Riverdale season 5 finale! It’s been a long time coming with a bunch of twists and turns that have left us at the doorstep of the plot that’ll propel us into season 6‘s five episode event. But first everything that’s been brewing in 5B has to come to ahead.

Last episode, “Chapter Ninety-Four: Next to Normal,” laid to rest the Polly disappearance case with an episode partly focused on the Coopers grief over their loss. Through song and dance, Alice and Betty worked through their issues and were set on a path to healing with the addition of Betty promising to stay in Riverdale with her mother.

We also saw the rise of both Jabitha and Tangs as Cheryl became Britta’s guardian and Varchie agreed to take a beat. With these new relationship developments and new dynamics, we’re closing out the season on a different foot and that looks to be continuing into the finale as well.

What is the Riverdale season 5 finale about?

An incident at Pop’s will have the Riverdale crew questioning the fate and direction of their beloved town. They’ve all been working hard to save Riverdale after Hiram unincorporated it and essentially wiped the town with pep off the map.

While progress has been made, between everything else they’ve had to deal with over the season, what happened at Pop’s is just another thing to add to their pile of troubles. There’s also the Blossom curse to contend with which means we’re finally going to get some more answers about Cheryl’s lineage. Here’s hoping she actually is a witch and a CAOS crossover is on the horizon.

In other exciting plots, the path to Barchie and Veggie are now unobstructed thanks to Varchie’s break-up last episode. Will these couples rise alongside Jabitha and Tangs? I certainly hope so, but only the finale can give us the answer.

Whatever episode 19 has in store for us, it’s certain to be quite the ride!
