Wednesday night saw the premiere of the CSI revival along with new episodes of fan-favorite shows. Here are the live TV ratings for Oct. 6.

After a night of almost all programming being down in the live TV ratings, Wednesday, Oct. 6 was a little mixed. Most programming was still down in the ratings, suggesting that a lot of people are turning to delayed methods of viewing. This shouldn’t be that surprising with the way streaming has made it possible that we’re not slaves to TV networks.

The CW saw the best ticks upward. Riverdale‘s Season 5 finale was up 100% in the demo and 58% in the audience. In the Dark was up 150% in the demo and 20% in the audience. There’s no need to worry about either of these shows, though. They’re both renewed for new seasons.

Likewise, we have no need to worry about any of the One Chicago shows. Chicago Med was the only show to see an upward tick in the ratings, with it and Chicago Fire both holding the highest demo in the scripted shows. Fire also had the highest audience of the night across all TV shows. All three One Chicago shows have another season already confirmed.

Survivor down, The Goldbergs mixed in the live TV ratings

Getting into the shows that haven’t been renewed yet, there are some concerning shows dipping down. Two we’re not too worried about just yet are Survivor and The Masked Singer. While the two shows did see ticks downward (with The Masked Singer down 20% in the demo), the ratings are still strong for the timeslot. However, The Masked Singer is going to want to pay attention to the lost audience.

Tough as Nails debuted 9% down in the demo and 11% down in the audience compared to the season premiere last year. This isn’t anything to be concerned about just yet. CBS will keep an eye on how the show performs in the coming weeks.

CSI: Vegas was disappointing. It debuted with 3.97 million viewers and a 0.4 demo rating. While this was second in the timeslot, it was poor overall. Wednesday nights are competitive and the 10/9c timeslot was questionable from the start. We’ll see how this revival stabilized to see if there is a chance of it developing into another CSI series and not just a limited series.

ABC was pretty good overall. The Goldbergs was up 9% in the demo and stable in the audience. The Wonder Years did dip 10% in the audience but was stable in the demo, which could see it land a second season. The Conners was down, and it’ll be interesting to see if the live TV ratings are good enough for the cost of the standout cast.

Home Economics is the comedy we’re most concerned about. It was down 16% in the demo and 10% in the audience. The figures of 1.91 million viewers and a 0.3 demo rating were the lowest of all the comedies.

A Million Little Things and Alter Ego are the two shows we’re most concerned about overall. The ABC drama was down 35% in the demo and 16% in the audience. It’s continually dropped throughout the last couple of seasons and the timeslot doesn’t help. Hopefully, DJ Nash gets the news that the show is ending with time to wrap up all the storylines. We need these storylines wrapped properly.

Alter Ego had hoped to become the next The Masked Singer, but it’s not caught the attention of the audience. It was down another 4% in the total audience and 14% in the demo. These aren’t great numbers, especially coming off the strongish numbers of The Masked Singer. I don’t think this unscripted show is getting a second season.
