Desperate Housewives reunion in upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie

James Denton and Teri Hatcher are reuniting on a new Hallmark Channel movie this holiday season. The former Desperate Housewives co-stars will appear in A Kiss Before Christmas, an all-new original movie that will also see Denton serve as executive producer.

Desperate Housewives has been off the air since 2012 but Denton and Hatcher have remained close. A Kiss Before Christmas will be the first time they’ve worked together since the show.

“From the very beginning I wanted the first Hallmark Christmas movie I produced to be unique. I had no idea we’d be lucky enough to get Teri,” Denton told Deadline. “We’ve always wanted to work together again, and we found the perfect vehicle for what I think is the first Desperate Housewives reunion. And since we’re on Hallmark, I don’t have to worry about getting shot at the end.”

A Kiss Before Christmas is the story of Ethan Holt (Denton), a real estate executive who learns that he’s missing out on a big promotion on Christmas Eve. The married father of two makes a wish that things were different, and it sends him on a journey where the life he had is gone and he has a chance to do things over again.

What Ethan doesn’t realize is that his happiness is tied to Joyce (Hatcher), his wife from his other life, but in his alternate dream world he has to convince her that they truly belong together and he only has until Christmas Day to do it.

Hatcher is thrilled to work with Denton again. “The chemistry and friendship we had on Desperate Housewives is alive and well all these years later, and the loving, warm spirit of the holidays is the perfect backdrop of reuniting. It’s amazing to be back together. It’s just like old times. You won’t want to miss it.”

A Kiss Before Christmas will air during Countdown to Christmas 2021, which begins on Oct. 22, 2021.
