Is Jennifer Love Hewitt leaving 9-1-1?

Maddie has left Chimney and her baby behind on the most recent episode of 9-1-1 Season 5. Is this it for Jennifer Love Hewitt on the series?

9-1-1 certainly has us concerned. Maddie took Jee-yun to the firehouse and then just left. She’s suffering from postnatal depression and thinks she’s doing the best thing for her daughter, but it’s sure to cause a major fallout.

The question is whether she’ll be there for the fallout. Will Maddie return?

All eyes are on whether Jennifer Love Hewitt has left 9-1-1 or not. Will she return to the series?

Why did Jennifer Love Hewitt leave 9-1-1?

Right now, it looks like Hewitt has left the show. It’s possibly not permanent, but it looks like we’ll be without her for a few episodes. In fact, it’s possible that we’ll be without her until the second half of the season.

Just before the new season premiered, we learned Hewitt gave birth to her third baby. After the birth of her second child, she took three years out of acting. She abruptly left Criminal Minds after just one season on the series and then we had to wait for 9-1-1 to see her return to TV.

Will we have to wait another three years for Hewitt’s return to the screen again? This is going to depend on her wishes now that she’s had her baby. However, with the storyline chosen, it’s unlikely she’s going to be away for too long.

Postnatal depression is an important topic to cover well. While we’ve seen Maddie go off, we need some sort of resolution. We need to see her get the help she needs and return well. Then we need to see the fallout that her return will bring, her need to prove she can be trusted again. I get the feeling that is going to happen in the second half of the season after the winter break.
