Monday TV ratings: NCIS down, Ordinary Joe up [Oct. 11, 2021]
NCIS said goodbye to Gibbs in an episode that dipped in the live TV ratings. Meanwhile, Ordinary Joe gets new life. Check out the full ratings.
We knew it was coming, but that doesn’t mean we’re happy about it. Mark Harmon’s last episode of NCIS (for now?) aired on Monday, Oct. 11. Sadly, the live TV ratings didn’t reflect such a moment. The show was down 21% in the demo and 7% in the audience. It’ll be interesting to see how the series continues to perform without Gibbs around.
The downward tickers were seen almost all over TV. They’d started with The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola on CBS, and NCIS: Hawaii saw a 16% decline in the demo and 8% decline in the audience. The good news is the NCIS audience was still the best of the night and the Hawaii audience was the best of its timeslot.
Ordinary Joe ticked up, 9-1-1 was down in the live TV ratings
As mentioned, a lot of the live TV ratings were down. The only shows that saw upward ticks were Roswell, New Mexico (which we already know is renewed for Season 4), The Big Leap and Ordinary Joe.
Ordinary Joe is worth noting for its 51% increase in the demo and 14% increase in the audience. The demo was the best of its timeslot and maybe the Friday night reruns on NBC are working. This could be enough to land the show a second season.
The Big Leap was also up 30% in the demo and 3% in the total audience. Will it be enough to save the series? I’m on the fence about this one, but I’m still leaning toward it being canceled. The numbers are just too far down compared to its 9-1-1 lead-in.
Speaking of the lead-in, 9-1-1 was down in both the demo and audience. The demo was still the best-scripted show of the night, but the audience is still below the 5 million mark. It still remains FOX’s best drama.
The Voice and Dancing with the Stars were also down. The Voice still claimed the top spot in the demo of all shows, but these figures are something the networks will want to keep an eye on.
Take a look at the live TV ratings for Monday, Oct. 11.
