Is a new episode of Riverdale season 5 on tonight, Oct. 13?

Riverdale season 5 has been one wild episode after another, but if you’re looking for a new episode of this bonkers series then you’ll have to wait until November. The season 5 finale aired Wednesday, Oct. 6.

The episode titled, “Chapter Ninety-Five: RIVERDALE: RIP(?),” shook things up not only in the relationship department but also with the beginning of a plot that’ll drive us straight into a witchy revenge story for season 6.

Fans of both Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale have been waiting years for a crossover between the two shows and finally it’s happening. The news broke first on the official Twitter account when a picture of Kiernan Shipka in a Riverdale director’s chair was posted.

The crossover was confirmed via Entertainment Weekly with a statement from showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa:

"We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our ‘Rivervale’ special event. It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds — I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special."

When is season 6 premiering in November? Here’s what we know!

Riverdale season 6 release date

The sixth season of Riverdale premieres Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 9 p.m. ET. Yes, that does mean Riverdale Wednesdays will now be Riverdale Tuesdays and the show will be airing after new episodes of The Flash season 8.

What makes Tuesday special on The CW in November is that both shows will be having five episode must-watch events. The Flash is set for a crossover with the ominous title of Armageddon while Riverdale (or should we say Rivervale?) will be dealing with the unleashed curse of Abigail Blossom.

According to EW, Sabrina Spellman makes her Riverdale debut in episode four of the event. In “The Witching Hour(s),” the iconic witch arrives just in time to help Cheryl with a spell that is make or break for one of the Blossoms. Though we’re also hoping that Sabrina will make a bit of time for Jughead given their comics canon friendship.
