New movies to watch in theaters and streaming this weekend: October 15, 2021
By Ricky Valero
We have arrived on the weekend, but it isn’t just any weekend folks, it is Halloween Kills weekend! No funny song, no lousy dad joke, Michael Myers is BACK! Today, we share the best new movies to watch in theaters and films available on streaming services that you don’t want to miss.
Every week we see more and more new content coming to theaters and streaming platforms and we like to make a quick list each week to highlight those new movies coming out. We highlight the films you need to see and where you can watch them.
This week we see the return of Michael Myers. We saw the return of the queen of horror in the 2018 reboot of the franchise. It was great to see Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode again. I loved the movie and have been anxiously awaiting the sequel to the film.
We got the masked man chasing down his past, Ben Affleck returning to the big screen and a documentary about a famous rock band all coming out this week.
New movies to watch in theaters this weekend
- Halloween Kills
- The Last Duel
The Last Duel is an interesting one because Ben Affleck and Matt Damon wrote the film and Ridley Scott directed the movie about King Charles VI. Early reviews were mixed, but most say Jodie Comer is looking to eye an Oscar nomination for her performance. I am intrigued by this one but optimistic.
New movies to stream from home this weekend
- Halloween Kills (Peacock)
- Convergence: Courage in a Crisis (Netflix)
- Dopesick (Hulu)
- Needle in a Timestack (VOD)
- The Velvet Underground (Apple TV+)
We all know that Halloween Kills is dropping in theaters, but I saved it for this bottom portion for those who may not be ready to step back into a theater quite yet. The slasher is streaming on Peacock the same day it releases in theaters. So you can watch Michael Myers take down his next victims in the comfort of your own home.
What will you be watching this weekend? Will you enjoy a movie in theaters or streaming?
