Legends of the Hidden Temple (2021) is a nostalgic hour of television that leans incredibly hard into what made the game show a hit for kids in the ’90s. Whether this same magic will work for adults is questionable, but we’re still giving the show a chance to find its legs.
The premise is rather simple and hasn’t diverted from the original set-up of the series. Four teams compete in a set of challenges that’ll test their ability to work with their partner.
They’ll always have to cross the moat to get to the temple, their knowledge of the legend being told to them will factor into their chances of moving forward, and the Temple Games ultimately decide which team will be granted access to the temple to make a run for the treasure inside.
None of this besides the Steps of Knowledge seems mentally taxing even if it is physically draining but there’s something about adults running through a game that’s clearly designed for children that’s humorous especially when all the prizes, besides the 25,000 dollar grand prize, look to be for kids as well.

What is Legends of the Hidden Temple (2021) episode 2 about?
Episode 2 of the season is titled “The Fiery Lava Rock of Pele” which means the show will be delving into a story centered on the Hawaiian goddess of fire. Each challenge will mirror an element of the legend being told.
The teams–The Blue Barracudas, Green Monkeys, Red Jaguars, and Silver Snakes–must listen closely to Olmec’s tale otherwise their inattention could prove detrimental in later rounds as their knowledge of Pele’s legend is tested.
