Only The CW had a night of reruns on Monday, Oct. 18. It’s time to look at how the big networks fared in the live TV ratings.

We got another night of mostly all-new TV episodes. The CW was the odd network out as it gets ready for its Monday night fall shows to premiere next week.

ABC ended the night with a special rather than a new episode of The Good Doctor. The special was the lowest-rated show for the network and among the lowest-rated shows across the whole night, but specials tend to be like that.

The Big Leap ticks up in the live TV ratings

It looks like The Big Leap is finally stabilizing. The show ticked up in the demo and audience, but the numbers are still on the low side, especially when compared to lead-in 9-1-1.

While 9-1-1 ticked down again, the numbers are still great for a Monday night on FOX. There’s no doubt that this series is going to be renewed for a sixth season. The problem is the audience numbers are dropping from around 5 million to less than 1.5 million with The Big Leap. The demo is dropping from 0.8 to 0.3.

With all this in mind, I doubt we’ll see The Big Leap renewed.

NBC might hold onto Ordinary Joe, though. The series did see some downward ticks this week, but it’s remained relatively steady for a late-night Monday show. Like The Big Leap, though, the numbers from its The Voice lead-in just aren’t holding up.

Speaking of The Voice, that was down 18% in the demo and 12% in the total audience. It remained the top unscripted show in the audience and is second-best overall. It was joint top in the demo with Dancing with the Stars and 9-1-1.

Dancing with the Stars ticked up 21% and 29% in the demo and audience respectively. These two unscripted shows are getting renewed. There’s no doubt about it.

CBS had a pretty decent night. While The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola were down, they weren’t down too much. They’re still strong comedies for the network.

Meanwhile, NCIS and NCIS: Hawaii were both up in the demo. The flagship show was 3% down in the audience but still pulled in the best audience of the night. Hawaii held steady in the audience. It will be interesting to see how NCIS holds up now without Gibbs but these numbers this week are a positive sign. Hawaii is sure to be renewed if this is where it stabilizes.
