Chucky the Doll is an icon in horror circles and the stuff of nightmares for adults who saw the movie as kids because it didn’t look so scary…but boy were we wrong. After a movie franchise blossomed around the murderous living doll with the soul of a serial killer, Chucky’s story is coming to life as a television series. Here’s what you need to know about the Chucky series cast.

The story is based on the original 1988 film where a popular toy becomes possessed by the spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif, who also voices the doll in the movies).

The Good Guy doll is given as a gift to young Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) by his mother, who purchases the doll from a homeless man. But little does she know, the doll possessed the malevolent spirit of a killer and he’s not ready to rest in peace.

The Chucky TV series cast features familiar faces, new faces

Dourif and Vincent are back for the new SyFy series, as is Jennifer Tilly, who starred in the fourth movie of the franchise, 1998’s Bride of Chucky.

Joining the cast are Zachary Arthur (Jake Wheeler), Fiona Dourif (Nica Pierce), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Lexy Taylor), Devon Sawa (Logan Webb), Christine Elise (Kyle), Teo Briones (Junior Webber), Lexa Doig (Bree Weber) and Barbara Alyn Woods (Michelle Cross).

The series follows a small American town where life is turned upside down after a vintage toy is discovered at a garage sale. That vintage toy? A Good Guy doll, as in a Chucky doll. The presence of the doll coincides with a series of gruesome murders, triggering several people from Chucky’s past to descend upon the town. Some of them are Chucky’s friends and others won’t rest until he’s gone, once and for all.
