We’re all excited to spend time with Din Djarin and head back to a galaxy far, far away in The Mandalorian. However, don’t expect to travel with Mando anytime soon as The Mandalorian season 3 is not coming in November 2021.

Right now, there’s no timetable as to how much of season 3 has been filmed. Star Wars projects are extremely secretive and rarely leak or reveal anything from the set. However, we do know that filming is underway thanks to a tweet from Carl Weathers, who plays Greef Karga.

When will The Mandalorian return to Disney Plus? We have some predictions.

The Mandalorian Season 3 premiere date

At first, we were all led to believe that the third season would premiere in December 2021. A show about a bounty hunter will premiere on Disney Plus this December, but it’s not the one played by Pedro Pascal. Instead, The Book of Boba Fett will hit the streaming service on Dec. 29, 2021.

In the spin-off series, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) will look to start up life again and rule on Jabba the Hutt’s old stomping grounds, Tatooine. The first trailer was released on Nov. 1.

The Mandalorian season 3 will not air until The Book of Boba Fett concludes its run on Disney Plus. The amount of episodes has not been revealed, but experts are saying it could range anywhere from six to nine episodes.

By process of elimination, the earliest premiere date for season 3 would occur in February 2022, which seems highly unlikely considering filming hasn’t concluded.

Keep in mind that there are two Star Wars shows in post-production that will air in 2022: Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Both series have concluded filming so Disney could elect to run one or both of those shows before The Mandalorian season 3, which would then push its release date back to the second half of the year.

One date to keep an eye on is Nov. 12, 2021, which is Disney+ Day. Typically, new footage and release dates are announced for upcoming projects so it’s possible that a premiere could be announced for season 3.
