Watch Queens episode 4 “Ain’t No Sunshine” live online tonight!

With three episodes under its belt, Queens has proven itself to be a fast-paced music soap opera with a plot that weaves in and out of ridiculousness and depth to mixed effect. Episode 4 “Ain’t No Sunshine” will tests the show’s ability to handle a grief arc now that Brianna’s family situation has worsened.

We started the series with the wife and mother of five cast in the shadow of her husband’s career and the role she adopted to support his dreams. No longer fueled by the power and charisma of her on-stage persona Professor Sex, Brianna had very little presence in the face of her family’s needs.

However, she reclaimed her voice after she caught her husband cheating on her with one of his college students and decided to reunite with The Nasty B**ches when they were called upon to perform. Brianna didn’t even let her husband’s cancer diagnosis stop her. She chose to nurse him back to health whilst pursuing another shot at fame.

Last week’s episode “Who You Calling a B**ch?” shook up her world in a way she couldn’t have expected especially when she’d gotten to a place of wanting to try again with her marriage. As such “Ain’t No Sunshine” is set to be a somber and reflective episode for Brianna who’d just begun to find her shine again.

What is Queens episode 4 “Ain’t No Sunshine” about?

Brianna went from a woman scorned to a phoenix on the rise to a widow in the span of three episodes. It’s a lot to handle but thankfully she’ll have her girls by her side to ride out this storm.

However, she’s got a lot of complicated feelings surrounding her husband’s death not to mention five grieving kids to mother and console as well as the beginning fruits of a musical resurgence. Brianna just got her magic as P. Sex back but it might be time to hang up her gold chain sooner than she thought possible.

Life is coming with a quickness for all of Queens as Jill must deal with the consequences of stepping out on Tina in “Who You Calling a B**ch?” It’s been a head rush for her lately. She came out as a lesbian, claimed her space in her faith community, and was taken under the wing of a group of lesbians who have been out for years.

But, in embracing her new life full of possibilities she never let herself have, Jill may not be as ready to settle into a relationship as she thought. She loves Tina but love may not be enough for her to commit to her without first living her life as a single sapphic woman.

As for Naomi, the question of who her daughter’s father is might be answered in “Ain’t No Sunshine.” We never did learn whether or not Cam’ron is JoJo’s dad when he came inquiring about it and now it’s E-Roc’s turn to come knocking on Naomi’s door.

Old wounds are definitely going to be torn open as the answer to this question is sure to hurt regardless of what Naomi says to him. After all, E-Roc was messing with both Valeria and Naomi back in the day and at one point they were both pregnant.

Valeria made the decision to get an abortion while Naomi kept her child, but in both cases E-Roc wasn’t able to be a father which is something he clearly wants. If JoJo is his daughter, he missed out on her growing up and if he isn’t, his dream of becoming a father will remain unfulfilled.

“Ain’t No Sunshine” is certainly going to bring the pain.
