Oomph, what a crossover episode between Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy. The promo said there would be a death, but who did it end up being?

One thing the promo for the crossover event on Thursday. Nov. 11 told us was that not everyone would make it through the explosions alive. It felt like the explosions were going to be some sort of terrorist attack, but it turned out to be linked to a gas line that had been accidentally hit.

The first explosion caused problems for civilians, which led to a number of firehouses being called out. While putting out the fires, Vic was hit with a snapped electrical cable and electrocuted. Miller managed to bring her back and she was finally rushed to Grey Sloan Memorial after the Aid cars were able to get through the local traffic jam.

The episode wasn’t over, though. A second explosion led to two firefighters going down. One was still conscious and rushed away in an ambulance. That was the captain from Station 23. The other was found unresponsive. Who was that firefighter? What happened on the Grey’s Anatomy hour?

Who died on the Station 19 crossover with Grey’s Anatomy?

The promo hinted that it would be Ben. This was clearly some sort of crazy thing to draw us in though, right? After all, Ben has survived so much already that it would be crazy to now kill him off. That didn’t stop Bailey from worrying though when she couldn’t get Ben on the phone.

It wasn’t Ben she had to be worried about, though. As an ambulance came in with no sirens and no rush, it was very clear that they weren’t bringing in a patient. They were bringing in a body.

We’d seen at the end of the Station 19 hour that Miller was the one unconscious after the second explosion. Ben and Jack tried everything they could to keep him alive on the way to Grey Sloan Memorial. Sadly, they couldn’t bring him back, and the death was confirmed with Miller’s arrival at Grey Sloan Memorial just 15 minutes into the second hour.

Station 19 said a heartbreaking goodbye to Dean Miller.
