We’ve finally arrived at the best part of our weekend, sure it’s Friday, but today we also share the best new movies to watch in theaters and films available on streaming services that you don’t want to miss.

If you took a look at my November 2021 movie list, I talked about how November is when we are kicking into award season. The week’s most significant release in theaters is the leader in the Best Picture clubhouse in Belfast. And one of the bigger movies dropping on Netflix this week is also in the conversation for several other awards in Passing.

We also have two big-time releases on streaming platforms. First, Paramount’s release of Clifford the Big Red Dog, which is scheduled to release in theaters and on their streaming app and the other is the debut of The Rock, teaming up with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot to bring us the latest action-packed movie on Netflix, Red Notice.

We got a Big Red Dog, a Rock teaming with a Wonder Woman and a Deadpool and some kid left home alone all coming out this week.

New movies to watch in theaters this weekend

  • Belfast
  • Love Is Love Is Love
  • Clifford the Big Red Dog

Kenneth Branagh has had one of the more interesting careers of anyone in Hollywood. He was nominated for Best Director and Actor in a leading role in 1990 for the film Henry V and again in 1997 for Best Screenplay for Hamlet. Still, interesting career choices in directing the dud Artemis Fowl and Murder on the Orient Express had some thinking maybe his best was behind him directing-wise. But after debuting at several film festivals, Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast has become the leader in the pact for several Oscar nominations.

Belfast follows the true story of Branagh’s childhood, which sees star-studded cast from Jamie Dornan, Judi Dench, Caitriona Balfe and Ciarán Hinds.

New movies to stream from home this weekend

  • Clifford the Big Red Dog (Paramount +)
  • Red Notice (Netflix)
  • Passing (Netflix)
  • Home Sweet Home Alone, (Disney+)

We know it can be rather expensive to go to the theaters, especially to watch a kid’s movie, so it’s exciting that families can enjoy Clifford from home. Just pop the popcorn, grab some candy, and settle in on your couch to enjoy this one.

What will you be watching this weekend? Will you enjoy a movie in theaters or streaming?
