During Disney+ Day, Disney announced an original movie, Sneakeralla. It’s set to drop on Feb. 18, 2022, and it honestly looks amazing! Here’s everything you need to know about it so far.

We are living for Disney+ Day! From updates on movies (and shows) we have been waiting on to announcements such as this one: Sneakerella. You can probably guess the premise based on the title, it’s a nod to the Cinderella movies. Now, there have been many (maybe one too many) movies and projects that follow the basic story of Cinderella, but this one truly seems original and unique.

Sneakerella release date: When is Sneakerella coming out?

When is the movie coming to Disney+? Unlike most of its announcements that have only been teasing approximate release dates, Disney revealed that the original movie will be available to stream on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022. It’ll be one of the first 2022 original movies from Disney+ out of the gate.

Sneakerella cast: Who stars in Sneakerella?

Who stars in the upcoming movie? We’ll see Lexi Underwood as Kira King, Chosen Jacobs as El (get it?), Devyn Nekoda as Sami, Kolton Stewart as Zelly, Robyn Alomar as Liv, John Salley as Darius King, and more!

Sneakerella synopsis: What is Sneakerella about?

There’s no official synopsis out yet, but we have something even better, the trailer!

I love the diversity and fun twist to the story! As you can see from the trailer below, the movie follows El, a young man with the dream of becoming a designer. He loves to design sneakers, but there are a few things keeping him down, starting with his dad not believing in El and wanting El to focus on “the real life,” encouraging his son to give up his dreams.

As soon as we have more updates, we’ll refresh this post! In the meantime, are you ready to lace up and dream big? The movie streams Feb. 18, 2021, only on Disney+.
