There are some excellent Christmas movies to watch on Netflix. That list gets rather overwhelming, so we’ve narrowed the options down.

Sometimes, you want a Christmas rom-com. Then there are times you need something that’s perfect for the whole family. And there are times that you just want to dance and sing along to a beautifully crafted movie.

Netflix has something for everyone. This is the streamer to turn to when you want Christmas movies, but that list does get overwhelming. You can end up stuck just staring at the screen scared to pick something in case you miss out on something else that’s great.

That’s why we’ve narrowed down the list. When you need something good to suit a certain mood, these are the movies to put on.

5 must-watch Christmas movies on Netflix this year

A Christmas Prince

There are actually three movies to watch on Netflix, so you’re going to get way more than five Christmas movies on this list. All three movies follow Rose McIver’s Amber as she heads undercover on a journalism assignment to work on a story about a playboy prince who is supposed to become king.

Of course, she ends up falling for this prince. There’s also a big conspiracy to uncover in the first movie. After that, we follow her as she and the prince get married and then they welcome their first child.

Jingle Jangle

There are some excellent Christmas movies for kids on Netflix, and Jingle Jangle is one that you have to watch at least once. After that, you’ll likely have it on over and over again. It’s just that good.

The musical movie follows Jeronicus, a toymaker whose dreams are shattered when his assistant steals his book of ideas. He loses his will to create new toys and is about to lose everything when his granddaughter visits. Can his granddaughter help get his creativity back and prove that the assistant stole everything?

Klaus

Animated Christmas movies are a lot of fun. Klaus is one of the best on Netflix right now, and it’s a must-watch this year whether you’ve never watched it before or watched it a million times.

The movie follows a postman who turns out to be the worst in his class. When he’s sent to the North Pole, he meets a toymaker and his magical journey begins.

The Christmas Chronicles

When it comes to musical Christmas movies, there is one (well, two!) that the whole family will adore. In The Christmas Chronicles, Santa finds himself stuck on Earth. There’s a risk of Christmas being destroyed forever, and Kate and Tommy will need to team up with Santa to save it.

In the sequel, Kate ends up in the North Pole, where she gets to meet the elves and Mrs. Claus. Of course, there’s another emergency that sees Kate and Santa have to team up to save Christmas again.

The Princess Switch

We have another movie with sequels. The Princess Switch follows Vanessa Hudgens’s two characters who turn out to look just like each other. One is a baker and the other is a princess. Fed up of their own lives, they decide to switch places for a while.

The second movie introduces a third character played by Hudgens and brings another switching storyline. There is a third movie arriving in 2021 and you’ll want to put it on to complete the trilogy.
